Kavo Diagnodent Laser Cavity Detection Device
The KaVo DIAGNOdent is a revolutionary way to detect cavities here in our Lima, Peru, dental clinic. First, our dentist calibrates the machine to the patient’s teeth by scanning a cleaned surface area. Next, we scan all of the patient’s teeth within a few short minutes. When tooth decay is detected, the machine emits a sound. This technology is a great way to locate subsurface cavities that an ordinary dental examination might miss, which allows our dentists to fix the problem before it grows into something more substantial, improving oral health and saving the patient money over the long-term. The laser is low-intensity and is completely harmless.
