CAD CAM Digital Dentistry with CEREC
Smiles Peru is proud to be a pioneer in digital dentistry in Peru, announcing the introduction of the revolutionary CEREC CAD CAM dental system for ceramic tooth restorations and veneers. The CEREC process involves using an intraoral camera to take a digital impression of the tooth both before (for purposes of matching the bite) and after the tooth is drilled. The computer software then designs the ideal restoration by stitching together the two different scans.
Next, the milling unit (a 3-dimensional printer) carves the ceramic block to match the computer’s design. Once the restoration is milled (a process lasting roughly 10 minutes), our dentists cement the restoration onto the tooth using a chemical bonding agent and air abrasion to create additional surface area for a strong bond.
Some ceramics may require additional time in an oven to be brought to appropriate hardness, however, most single restorations with CEREC can be completed in a single visit of about an hour. The ceramic chosen will depend upon the patient and the location of the restored tooth.
Why choose CAD CAM dental crowns by CEREC?
– CEREC crowns, inlays, and onlays are clinically proven, with studies demonstrating a 10-year success rate above that of traditional restorations.
– CEREC tooth restorations can be completed in a single visit with no uncomfortable impression trays or temporaries.
– CEREC restorations allow for beautiful estetics with a wide variety of strong and enamel-like materials to choose from.
We look forward to showing you the many benefits of CAD CAM digital dentistry with CEREC!
